Boy oh Mauboy

As far as surreal moments go, I would have to say hanging out with Jessica Mauboy (above) in the studio and singing T.L.C together would have to be one of them. The RnB star is better known for her tunes, but she discusses her involvement in aboriginal musical Bran Nue Day and some of her favourite flicks below:

Movie Mazzupial: Bran Nue Day was your acting debut, are movies something you would like to pursue in the future?
JM: (Laughs) It was interesting. Ever since I was a little kid I used to act in the mirror and pretend to be Mariah (Carey).

MM: Get out! I’m not so mildly obsessed with her!
JM: I love her. Even when she says her crazy speeches or has a breakdown or doesn’t feel right with herself, that’s okay, you can come back from that. I used to get my big sister to try and do my hair like her. Anyway, I would love to do another film when I find the right project, even if it isn’t something that relates to me. I would love to play a funny character, someone who’s loud with a big personality.

MM: I would like to see that. What are some of your favourite movies?
JM: Scream, I love scary movies. I love Babies Day Out and what’s the one with John Travolta? Guess Who’s Talking. I love Pocahontas and The Sound Of Music.
