Reds pitchers making headlines

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Reds reliever Aroldis Chapman threw a 106-mph pitch as clocked on the scoreboard at Great American Ball Park Monday night, April 18, 2011.

Aroldis Chapman threw a 106 mph fastball in last nights Reds/Pirates game. The only logical explanation is cuban steriods are undetectable. And even if the radar gun was off by 2 or 3 mph that is still pretty impressive.

But it's not as impressive as his teammate Mike Leake stealing $59.65 worth of T-shirts from Macy's in downtown Cincinnati and getting caught by security. There are not a lot of detals out, but it was confirmed that 72 hours before the incident, Leake received a paycheck worth 40k and is scheduled to make  $425,000 this year. But to be fair he probably only takes home $250,000 after taxes. Poor bastard.
