Spot the difference! Brad Pitt's body double gets to work on set of new zombie movie

Friday, June 24, 2011

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Double take: Brad Pitt's body double, left, was spotted on set of Brad's new movie World War Z in Malta yesterday

It was a case of double vision yesterday as Brad Pitt - and his body double - got to work on the set of the star's new movie.

The actor, 47, is shooting zombie film World War Z in Malta and had a stuntman on hand to help get the job done.

The stand-in wore an exact copy of the star's wardrobe and even replicated his stubble.

He was also seen getting a wig fitted for a wig in the same style as Brad's shoulder-length mane.

Of course, the double feature in any close-ups in the film, but instead steps in for the film's presumably dangerous action shots.

Brad's stuntman shares a near identical frame as the movie star, so viewers will likely be unable to tell the difference on the cinema screens.

So far Brad appears to be having a ball on the set of the new film.

He has also been getting visits from Angelina and the children too.

Earlier this week, his brunette partner of five years and two of their six-strong brood visited him on set.

Handsome: Brad is known for his smouldering good looks and has been voted People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive twice in 1995 and 2000

Zahara and Shiloh were given the chance at a behind-the-scenes look at Brad’s latest film.

The actor took a break from shooting scenes to spend time with his daughters and their 36-year-old mother.

The four members of the family enjoyed spending time together and were exploring the scenery as well as chatting to members of staff on the set.

The whole family have relocated to Malta while Brad films his new post-apocalyptic horror movie.

Brad plays the lead role of role of Max Brooks, an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission who published a report a decade after the Zombie War.

Date night: Earlier this week, Brad and his partner Angelina Jolie enjoyed a meal at the De Mondion restaurant at the Xara Palace Hotel, where Brad enjoyed dinner with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, eight years earlier

Brooks scours the world collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity.

The film, directed by Marc Foster, also stars Mireille Enos and Matthew Fox.

Earlier this week, the Hollywood heartthrob was also spotted wearing the wedding ring, sparking rumours that Brad and Angelina had tied the knot.

The big move: Angelina and the whole brood, seen here last week, have relocated to Malta while Brad films his new post-apocalyptic horror movie

Whether or not the jewellery is for Brad's role is unknown, but he was not wearing the ring when he dined with Angelina earlier in the week.

Brad had chosen a familiar restaurant for the romantic dinner date, the same eatery he had dined with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in 2003.

The couple enjoyed a meal at the De Mondion restaurant at the Xara Palace Hotel, where Brad enjoyed dinner with his former wife eight years earlier.

You Are Not Alone: Michael Jackson's children find strength in each other on the second anniversary of father's death

By NADIA MENDOZA

Siblings: Prince and Paris look happy and laid-back during their cinema trip
Earlier this week, they were presented with custom-made Michael Jackson memorial motorcycles.

Michael Jackson's children put on a brave face yesterday, just two days before the second anniversary of their father's death.

Prince and Paris' close relationship has helped them heal following the trauma of losing their role model.

The siblings, who bear a striking resemblance to one another, shared a joke and smiled together as they headed to the cinema.

Family friend Marcell 'Porkchop' Miller designed the bikes, plastering them with images of the King of Pop through various stages of his career.

The specially crafted vehicles will be driven through Forrest Lawn cemetery tomorrow to honour the Billie Jean legend.

On June 25, 2009, the award-winning idol died of acute propofol intoxication after he suffered cardiac arrest at his LA home.

Larking about: Prince makes his sister smille as he listens to his iPod in one ear

Jackson's hometown of Gary, Indiana - where he lived until 1969 - are also planning a tribute to mark his passing, and promise to do so every year.

Mayor Rudy Clay said: 'The world can expect a "Tribute to Michael" every year in June in Gary, Indiana. The world is invited.'

Prince and Paris are clearly doing their best to carry on as normal, despite the tragedy. The pair both opted for a casual look, dressing down in jeans and combat trousers, and wearing matching necklaces with identical pendants.

Symbolic? Both Prince and Paris wore matching pendants today

Despite only being 14 and 13 respectively, both teenagers looked older than their years, and could easily pass for 16 or 17.

Their uncanny similarity derives from mother Debbie Rowe, while half-brother Prince Michael II was born from an unknown donor through artificial insemination from a surrogate mother using Jackson's sperm.

Their little brother, usually referred to as Blanket, joined them and their cousins, Jermaine Jackson's children, in Thousand Oaks, California.

Ignoring sunny 21ºC temperatures, the group opted to hide in a cool auditorium instead of relishing the good weather outside.

Blanket, 9, didn't look quite as relaxed as his siblings, but did show off his jovial side with his T-shirt slogan.

The youngest member of the family wore a top with, 'Things for Today: Brush Teeth. Be Awesome' on it.

Just how does she do it? Model Lily Cole collects a DOUBLE first class from Cambridge (that's the highest possible honour)

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Doubling her success: Lily Cole has achieved a double first class degree in History of Art from Cambridge University

Most jet-setting supermodels barely have time to do their own make up let alone sign up for a full-time university course.

But Lily Cole proved it is possible to juggle a successful modelling career with a degree by picking up double first honours in History of Art from Cambridge University.

In doing so the 23-year-old achieved the highest possible honour in her degree course - an esteemed honour from one of the country's top universities.

The millionaire model was scouted at the age of 14 and has since modelled for top designers around the globe.

Her assignments have included work for all the leading fashion houses including Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Louis Vuitton.

In recent times she has switched her focus towards the world of acting appearing in BBC1 sci-fi show Doctor Who and Terry Gilliam's fantasy movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus with the late Heath Ledger.

A tough act to follow: Lily Cole plays the daughter of Dr Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) in Terry Gilliam's fantasy flick

Model turn: Lily has modelled for many of the world's top fashion houses

It was during her revision schedule when Miss Cole filmed scenes for her debut in Doctor Who, in which she appeared as a man-killing monster called Siren.

'Lily is really pleased with her result and has been smiling ever since she heard the news,' said a student at the university.

Adding: 'Not many students get double firsts and she has done exceptionally well as she had a huge work load outside university too.'

Multi-tasking at its best: The model juggled her studies with a hectic modelling schedule and still managed to achieve the very highest level on her degree

Throughout her time at the university she has thrown herself into college life, cycling to lectures, spending time with her fellow students after class and even modelling in the student newspaper.

Last term she combined her university life and acting career by starring as the lead role in The Seagull play at the ADC Theatre.

The model, who is said to be worth £6million, has said that she plans to concentrate on an acting career after graduating this summer, with forthcoming roles in There Be Dragons and The Moth Diaries.

In a recent interview she stated: 'Acting is something I’ve done since I was six years old, performing for my mum and my family in the living room, and I do it because my heart’s in it.

'I’ll always try to follow my heart into things I love, and modelling is not something I’m dreaming of pursuing forever.”

Lily is now said to be planning a holiday to celebrate her finals’ result.

She also scored straight As in her A-levels, gaining top grades in English, philosophy and ethics, and politics at Latymer Upper School in West London.

Now that's what you call Glamping! Wayne and Coleen Rooney arrive at Glastonbury by helicopter

By SIMON CABLE

Arriving in style: Coleen Rooney poses with Wayne's cousin Claire and friend Amy Louise Wilkinson next to their private chopper as they touched down at the Glastonbury festival

They have just spent the past few weeks lounging on a beach in Barbados. So it is understandable that the thought of camping in a tent at the Glastonbury Festival would not hold any appeal for Coleen and Wayne Rooney.

Instead, the couple have splashed out £15,000 making sure their stay is rather more comfortable — and certainly drier — than most other festival-goers this weekend.

Yesterday morning, they arrived with friends in a private helicopter which ferried them from their home in Cheshire to a luxury campsite next to the festival site.

Mrs Rooney couldn’t resist posting a photograph of herself arriving by helicopter on her Twitter page — wearing oversized sunglasses despite the gloomy weather.

The couple have hired a six-person Winnebago at nearby Windinglake Farm, advertised on the company’s website at £6,000 for the weekend, and have treated their friends to ‘podules’ — pop-up boutique-style hotel rooms — at the site.

Their Winnebago is fitted with leather sofas, a shower, televisions and a kitchen.

In addition, they have paid £270 for themselves and each of their party to make use of the facilities at the farm.

VIP style: The couple clutched their drinks as they made their way to the stage with their entourage

They have their own bar and restaurant, as well as a security service to ferry them the half-mile to and from the festival.

It is a far cry from most other revellers, who have paid £195 to camp in tents on the 900-acre Worthy Farm, with many struggling to find spots that were not waterlogged.

Glasto here we come! Wayne and Coleen Rooney set off for the Glastonbury festival

Slumming it in designer boots: Coleen chose a pair of £255 Hunter & Jimmy Choo wellies to stomp about in the mud in

The couple are with Wayne’s cousin Claire, Coleen’s long-time friend Amy Louise Wilkinson and her brother Anthony. In true WAG fashion, Coleen opted for a pair of £350 custom-made Hunter wellies with leopard-print lining.

The Manchester United star confirmed this month that he had undergone a hair transplant, but since then has kept it firmly tucked away under a baseball cap or hood.

Wayne and Coleen made a brief appearance on the Pyramid Stage yesterday for the start of blues legend BB King’s set, greeting crowds as they walked in, arm-in-arm.

Loved up: Wayne later tweeted a picture of himself and Coleen in the VIP area

Family day out: Coleen and Wayne leave the VIP area with Wayne's lookalike brother

The couple posed for a happy snap before setting off this morning, Coleen excitedly tweeting: 'Glasto here we come!!!!'

Manchester United star Wayne was suitable casual for the muddied festival grounds in a zip-up hoodie and T-shirt.

Despite their VIP arrival, the couple's festival getaway is far less glamorous than their most recent holiday.

The Rooneys jetted in from their luxurious holiday home in Barbados this week, after a holiday spent sipping cocktails on the beach.

The Rooneys are gearing up for a heady weekend of partying, shrugging off a callous interview by Helen Wood that was published today.

Miss Wood, who slept with Rooney while his wife was pregnant with the 20-month-old son Kai, has told ES magazine that she has 'no regrets over hurting Coleen.'

The 24-year-old former prostitute, posing naked, remarked: ‘I don't regret hurting her because the way I see it is, if you want to be a d*** get back with the person who cheated on you.’

Where's the VIP area? Somehow we doubt the Rooneys will be setting up their tent in the general camping section

Enjoying the atmosphere: Fans watch The Wu-Tang Clan perform at the Glastonbury Festival

But she added: ‘He is so unbelievably normal. Dead timid. Out of all the footballers that I've met I'll never know why he cheats.

'There's a lot worse than him. He reminds me of the boy at school who tried to be the lad's lad, but he's not.’

Wayne and Coleen are just two of the stars who have travelled to Glastonbury for the annual festival.

Famous faces: Jaime Winstone and Will Young were among the famous revellers

Mud-tastic: Professor Green (centre) also made an appearance at the festival

And, despite bad weather over the past few days, the Pyramid Stage speakers appeared to blow away the rain clouds today as the first major acts delighted the crowds amid glorious sunshine.

Mud-caked revellers got a reprieve from the downpours as the Moroccan act Master Musicians Of Joujouka and rapper Chipmunk got proceedings under way on the two main stages.

Sarah Chivers, 48, from Enfield, north London, is at the festival with her daughter Clare.

Luxury: Sara Cox tweeted a picture of the RV she is staying in at Glastonbury

Blondes have more fun: The Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack and MTV host Laura Whitmore also attended

She said: 'We've been here since the crack of dawn on Monday - it feels like we've been to three festivals before the acts have even started.

'We're most looking forward to U2 tonight - the line-up early on is pretty mediocre but it's better that way. The best is yet to come.'

As well as U2, Morrissey and US rap act Wu-Tang Clan were eagerly anticipated among the crowd.

'Sea Monster' Washes Up In China

A massive sea monster creature has washed up on a beach in Guangdong, China. So badly decayed it cannot be positively identified, the "sea monster" is 55 feet long and weights approximately 4.5 tons, according to The Sun.

Upon seeing a photo of the carcass, three marine biology experts — Scott Baker of Oregon State University Marine Mammal Institute, Bill Perrin, senior scientist for marine mammals at the National Marine Fisheries Service, and Bob Brownell, senior scientist for international protected resources with the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration's Fisheries Service — all think it's a whale.

Based on its throat grooves, "[we agree] that  sea monster's a balaenopterid," Baker told Life's Little Mysteries. "Judging from the reported size of 55 ft., maybe a fin whale. From the photo, however, it does not really look to be 55 ft., and so might be a smaller balaenopterid, like one of the 'Bryde's' whales."

"We all hope somebody collects the bones and a tissue sample for genetic analysis as recovery of whale carcasses is rare along the coast of China," he added.

The beast is tangled in ropes, and locals theorize that area fisherman once caught it but could not haul it in owing to its gargantuan size. According to The Sun, people have flocked to see the sea monster despite its foul stench.(R)

So Glastonbury fans really are getting older! Gran proves she's no stick in the mud

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Pensioner pop? A grey-haired woman pushes a walking frame through crows of young festival fans at Glastonbury yesterday

If you think music festivals should remain the preserve of the young, look away now.

Undeterred by the mud, rain...and throngs of youngsters, this grey-haired Glastonbury fan pushed what appeared to be a walking frame through the crowds yesterday.

She and thousands more had descended upon the 900-acre site at Worthy Farm, in Somerset, which was churned up by a second morning of torrential rain.

Many were left queuing to buy wellies, umbrellas and waterproof ponchos, but as you might expect from the older generation, this lady looked well kitted out.

Mudbath: Welly-clad music fans put on brave faces despite hundreds of tents flooding and treacherous conditions underfoot

The festival begins in earnest at 11am today when bands take to the main pyramid stage. Up to 170,000 are expected to attend

But although fans seem undeterred by predictions of another downpour tonight, the weather has already caused some problems. On-site medics have treated dozens – many of whom have hurt themselves slipping over in the mud.

But music fans put on brave faces despite hundreds of tents flooding and the treacherous conditions.

Quagmire: A festival-goer carefully walks through a puddle. There'll be a lot more where those came from

Desperate measures: Site workers try to suck mud from the market areas close to the Pyramid Stage in an attempt to dry them before the main event begins

Dare to bare: With conditions this bad, the only solution is...shorts. As small as possible, so there's less to get a soaking. Negotiating tricky patches with aplomb will be the order of the weekend for the best dressed festival goers

Tent city: Aerial view of the Glastonbury Festival taken today. Over the course of a few days Glastonbury becomes the home to thousands of party goers creating a temporary town twice the size of the city of Bath

Glastonbury Festival organisers in tractors have been dumping tonnes of straw and bark onto the ground in a bid to combat the boggy conditions.

A week of wet weather has saturated the 1,100-acre site and turned large areas into a huge bog with mud up to eight inches deep.

In for a penny... Tom Wilder, 17, from Kent, gets into the festival spirit and performs a dramatic slide in the Glastonbury Festival mud

Having far too much fun: Spirits are high despite the deluge. And welly manufacturers must be having a field day too

Baling out: Market traders lay straw down in market areas close to the Pyramid Stage. Ach! is that a speck of mud on my leg? (right) It certainly is.

U2, Morrissey and Biffy Clyro will take to the famed Pyramid Stage tonight as the festival gets into full swing.

Coldplay will headline the main stage on Saturday night and Beyonce on Sunday. Acts appearing on other stages include Chipmunk, Chase And Status and Primal Scream.

Avon and Somerset Police said 36 arrests were made on Wednesday - the opening day - for a variety of offences including possession of drugs, theft and assault.

The half-mud princesses: Flower child Mila from Wales arrives in her floral carriage, aka pushchair, while four-year-old Lyra Warrilow from Rugby enjoys her third Glastonbury dressed as a princess. Spot the handy waterproof all-in-one under that sparkly skirt

A quantity of drugs, some believed to be Class A substances and legal highs, were recovered and taken away for examination.

However, festival organisers just said no to the chance to have the sewage analysed for drugs.

Dr John Ramsey of St George's medical school, University of London, has pioneered a method of detecting even miniscule quantities of legal highs and illicit substances in human waste and was hoping to test his project at Glastonbury.

Those tiger feet: A pride of big cats take the necessary precautions with their paw-wear. But where's the sunshine?

Despite the fact that the scheme had the backing of the police, Glastonbury officials vetoed it, with the festival's founder, Michael Eavis, telling The Guardian: 'The drug culture these days has changed beyond belief. What a cheek to even suggest there's a problem.'

General crime at the festival has dipped from last year's levels, according to Inspector Chris Morgan, from Avon and Somerset Police. He said: 'We are pleased with the way the festival has been going so far.

Treacherous conditions: Festival goers traipse through the mud around an ice cream van at the Glastonbury Festival. Anyone for a 99?

'It is early days but reported crime is lower than the same time last year but our proactive patrols have made a higher number of arrests - demonstrating our determination to ensure that all festival goers have a safe and happy time here - despite the mud.'

There are eight regular police officers and 40 special constables patrolling the site at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset. Diving face down through Britain's biggest mudbath, teenage reveller Tom Wilder ensured the Glastonbury cheers started early.

Clouds cleared over the Pilton hills last night, but the rain returned this morning and is due for a reprise later today - the best weather is not expected until Sunday.

More than half the ticket-holders for the sold out event will have squelched their way to the site by tonight. But early arrivals' efforts to secure prize camping spots were confounded by yesterday's monsoon-like conditions.

Hundreds of tents were flooded within a few hours as torrential downpours began shortly after gates opened and fans began streaming in.

That sinking feeling: One happy festival goer enjoys her mud bath, left, while this colourful character, middle, seems less impressed by the goo underfoot. Meanwhile someone else, right, looks as if he's had a bit too much of everything, not just mud

Campers hauling their bags and beers along the slippery thoroughfares were even told to pitch tents on hills to escape the worst of the wet conditions.

Marc Saunders, 31, from Bath, pitched his tent in driving rain with his five-year-old daughter Sam and wife Sarah.

He said: 'We say it's "go hard or go home". We're thrilled to be here, the place is magical - even in the mud.' Another early arrival, 19-year-old James Street, from Belfast, was caked in mud from head to toe after slipping in a puddle.

Go hard or go home: Muddy revellers chill out at the stone circle during the evening celebrations. Finding a high spot out of the mud was a good plan

Nearly there lads, watch it doesn't all fall out...A group set off to pitch their tent. Have they got the kitchen sink in there?

He said: 'I'm drenched, obviously. But it's great just to be here with my pals.

Legendary place, legendary line-up. We're not interested in the headliners - there's so much more to see.'

The first of the main acts take to the Pyramid Stage tomorrow, when the wet weather is expected to return. Among a host of theatrical events at the site will be Glastonbury's own version of La Tomatina.

Other new elements for this year include The Spirit of 71 stage, with acts that played at the festival 40 years ago.

It started well: Festival goers and assorted druids cheer as they gather at the Stone Circle to see the sun set at Worthy Farm, Pilton

Beyonce, who fell in love with the Somerset festival after watching husband Jay-Z perform three years ago, is believed to have cleared her diary to party in Pilton over three days.

Rapper Jay-Z is even money with bookmakers Ladbrokes to join his wife on stage this Sunday.

When Somerset farmer Michael Eavis organised the first festival 41 years ago, he combined a typical pop festival with a more traditional harvest-type event.

Aerial view: Over the course of less than a week Glastonbury becomes home to thousands of party goers in a temporary town twice the size of the city of Bath

At the first ever Glastonbury in September 1970, around 1,500 people paid just £1 to see Marc Bolan and T-Rex headline the event - with free milk thrown in.

When the second festival was organised a year later the date was moved to coincide with the Summer Solstice in June.

The first Pyramid Stage was built on the Glastonbury Stonehenge leyline for the event, which added a spiritual element to the festival.
