Update On Guan Chong's Earnings
So Guan Chong reported its earnings.

GUAN Chong Bhd (5102), a cocoa processor from Johor, saw revenue for the financial year ended December 31 2010 surge above the RM1 billion mark, while group level net profit grew by slightly more than seven times.
The company said that revenue for the financial year under review stood at RM1.16 billion versus RM642.65 million in the year before.
Net profit, meanwhile, stood at a record RM100.01 million versus RM14.26 million in the same period a year ago.
In a filing to the stock exchange, Guan Chong attributed the positive results to several factors such as the strong ringgit.
The company also made strides due to cocoa product sales at higher prices, gains on commodity futures contracts and net fair value gains on foreign exchange derivatives.
Last year, the Johor-based export-driven company also expanded its annual production capacity to 82,000 tonnes from about 59,000 tonnes in 2009, in anticipation of more business coming its way.
This year, it is set to expand further in Indonesia.
Guan Chong managing director and chief executive officer Brandon Tay Hoe Lian, in a statement, said the group's products are in almost every part of the world.
"The continued strong demand for our cocoa products indicates that global consumer sentiment is still on an uptrend," he said.
"Our upcoming cocoa grinding facility in Batam, Indonesia, will have an initial capacity of 50,000 tonnes an annum. It will start operations in first quarter of 2011. We're positioned to capture an even-larger market share globally," he added.
To date, Guan Chong has a global network of more than 70 distributors and exports cocoa ingredients to more than 60 countries worldwide.

Guan Chong expects to raise RM120mil
KUALA LUMPUR: Guan Chong Bhd (GCB) expects to raise up to RM120mil from through its corporate exercise of issuing RM2 for 60 million free warrants.
“Based on the exercise price of the warrants of RM2 per new GCB share, the company stands to potentially raise up to RM120mil during the tenure of the warrants upon full exercise of the warrants by the holders of the warrants.
“Such proceeds will be utilised for the day-to-day working capital requirements of the GCB group,” it told Bursa Malaysia yesterday.
The company said that it had fixed the exercise price for the warrants at RM2, which was 9.29% or 17 sen over the theoretical ex-price after the proposed bonus issue of RM1.83 per share, based on the five-day volume weighted average price of RM2.44.
The 60 million warrants were issued on the basis of one free warrant for every four existing shares held on the same entitlement date for the proposed bonus issue.
The corporate exercise also involved the proposed bonus issue of 80 million new shares of 25 sen on a one-for-three basis.

Irendri(Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna) is a serpent queen who rules the kingdom of Angadesam. She hails from the family of magical witches and seeks immortality. Her mentor reveals about a girl Moksha (Baby Harshitha) who has a divine power in her and drinking her blood would be the solution.
Irendri sends her troops to get Moksha but her bodyguard Yodha (Siddarth) the blind warrior stands as protection. On the other hand, Yodha has got his love tale with Priya (Shruti Haasan) and assumes she is dead.
However, there is a connect between Irendri and Priya. And Yodha’s mission is to take Moksha, the divine girl, to a place to save the lives of many children who get into coma with the poison showered by Irendri’s fiendish troops.

Artists Performance:
Siddarth is a mismatch to the role. He can be good for the role of a prince but he doesn’t have the ruggedness or the masculinity to be a warrior. However, he tried to do his best so efforts were good though result was bad.
Shruti Haasan looks fresh, beautiful, seductive and sensuous. However, she must remember that if she continues picking up roles like this, her career will not last for long. Performance wise, she didn’t have anything to offer except show some oomph in the songs.
Lakshmi Manchu is the saving grace for the film. Her grandeur and decoration in appearance makes up for any drawbacks and she has given a decent performance given her debut in Tollywood. Well, there is huge acceptance for her as Mohan Babu’s daughter. She emulated him in a few scenes with her walk and dialogue.
Baby Harshitha is okay but given her character, it would have made sense if she maintained some serenity instead of prancing around like a kid who just comes after the school is over.
Ram Vallabhaneni seems to have come through recommendation. Ravi Babu looked silly, Ali brought few smiles, Brahmi looks dumb, Subbaraya Sharma has a guest role, Tanikella was brief, the others did their bit as required.
OTHERS:
Baby Harshitha who played the role of Moksha is fine; Ravi Babu is apt as Sudigundam. Ali, Tanikella, Brahmanandam doesn’t have much footage.

Eventually Nandini uses Rambabu’s love on her to take vengeance on the criminals those made her family an ash. What is the vengeance and who put an end to her family?
There comes Basivi Reddy (Prakash Raj), a rugged gangster who killed Nandini’s family members. Hence he faces trouble from Rambabu as a part of Nandini’s revenge. What happens next is an easy guess.
Artists Performance:
Gopichand is fine with his habitual performance. There is a humor line in his characterization and he carried that well.
Deeksha Seth is just there for some glamour but that glamour is not exploited well. She has to get trained in the aspect of performance and expressions.
Jayasudha and Chandramohan are ok in their roles. Barhmanandam’s comedy is weak.
Prakash Raj’s character lacks depth. Nazar’s role is impressive.
Coming to technical aspects, cinematography scores good marks. Music is average. Story is good, screenplay is bad and dialogues are ok.

Story :
A well knit tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Golconda High school which was once known for being the cricket champions. However, that is a story of 15 years and now, the school’s trustee Kireeth (subbaraju) has got his eyes on the school ground so that he can build coaching centers. In order to stop that, principal Viswanatham (tanikella) decides to call one of his ex-student and the best cricket player Sampath (sumanth) to coach the school team. Sampath agrees and has a challenge with Kireeth. If the team wins the trophy, the ground will remain and if not, it will be taken. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation :
The director has come up with an impressive storyline and both the presentation and narrative were top notch. The dialogues were neat, the script was clean and few catchy moments. The screenplay was excellent. Background score was catchy and there are only two songs worth listening. Cinematography was the highlight and gave a natural feel. Editing was crisp. Costumes were apt while the art department looked fine. Sumanth has come up with a decent performance and he suited the bill rightly. Swathi looks alright but she should have avoided the sarees. Tanikella was elegant. Subbaraju was good, Shafi was entertaining, Hema was brief. The real showstealers were the boys who showed confidence and ease in front of the camera.
Conclusion :
The film is based on the book ‘The Men Within’ and it has been made with a very noble intention. While the first half goes on a light note with entertaining aspects and a pinch of romance, it is the second half that gets charged up and the final twenty minutes form the highlight. Overall, this is a film which instills confidence. The flip side is that there are no commercial values so the film would be suitable for the families and the class audience. A little word of mouth publicity will give this film a deserving success.
Karomasti Verdict: Message oriented entertainer, recommended for families and students!!
