Katie Price and Alex Reid have tied the knot in a quickie Las Vegas wedding ceremony.
The pair exchanged vows at the marriage chapel at the Wynn Hotel yesterday at 4pm local time.

It came just hours after they were spotted shopping for rings near to their five-star Planet Hollywood hotel on Sunset Strip.

A statement released by their agent confirmed: 'Katie and Alex are delighted to announce that they got married in a private, simple ceremony at 4pm (PST) on February 2nd in Las Vegas.'

The newlyweds said in the statement: 'We are very much in love and look forward to the future together. We can’t wait to get back and celebrate our marriage with our friends and family who we know fully support our wishes.’

The spokesman added: 'Their decision to marry has not been made with any pre-conceived commercial plan or media deal in place, and their reason for getting married is purely down to their love for each other.'

But an insider told MailOnline: 'Her ITV2 camera crew were with her and could well have filmed the wedding.

'But Katie is not sure yet whether she will allow the footage to be aired.

'She has not signed any magazine deal for the wedding photographs but they are likely to do an interview about it when they get back.'

Less than half an hour after entering the rose-strewn chapel, the couple left holding hands and smiling – clutching a marriage licence.

Then they returned to their $10,000-a-night penthouse honeymoon suite.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Kate was incredibly excited. She had the idea while Alex was in the Celebrity Big Brother house and decided to just run with it.

'She loves Alex, and he is great with her three kids, so she thought she’d go for it.

'They may have secured a lucrative deal for the rights to their wedding, but their love is genuine. Alex worships the ground she walks on and Kate fancies the pants off him.'

The only delay in their quickie wedding was finding the bride a suitable dress.

Our source adds: 'They wanted to have the ceremony as soon as they got to Vegas, but the bridal stores weren’t open so she couldn’t get a dress.

'She had her fashion team trawling all over town for a gown. In the end she just had to make do.'

The couple are believed to have secured a £1million deal for exclusive pictures of their wedding – which comes less than a year after her split from Peter Andre.

In an interview with this week's OK! magazine, with which she signed an exclusive deal, Katie, 31, said: 'This year I will marry Alex and I'm going to have his kids,' adding: 'I wish I'd met Alex six years ago. He's perfect in every way.'

And the two are already planning how many children they want - with Alex saying 'two or three'.

Katie agreed: 'I've always said I want a big family.'

The news comes less than two months after Katie publicly humiliated Reid by dumping him live on I'm A Celebrity.

Reid, who won over the public during his time in the Big Brother house, said he was thrilled with the development.

'It's been a fantastic start to the new year and it's going to be even more fantastic now this is happening,' he revealed. 'I actually asked Katie to marry me after my fight in September, so it's something we've been discussing for some time.'
And he said his fiancée was misunderstood by the public.

Mother-of-three Katie split from her ex-husband last May and then announced she was parting ways with her boyfriend on television in November.

But following Reid’s triumph on Friday night, the glamour model had a remarkable change of heart.

A friend told the Mail: ‘It’s a huge turnaround from a few months ago but now Katie has decided her future does lie with Alex.

‘He was a big - and surprise - success on Celebrity Big Brother.

‘Katie had her doubts as to how she would react to him on a reality TV show but she found that it actually made her fonder of him.'
