She may be a mother of eight and just a few years shy of turning 40.

But if you needed proof that Kate Gosselin was trying to recapture her youth, then look no further than this petrol forecourt.

The reality star was pictured refuelling her car in Pennsylvania today, wearing an incredibly short, girly pink dress.

She teamed the look with towering peep-toe heels, sunglasses and scraped her hair back into a tight bun.

Kate, 35, has undergone a gradual transformation since her bitter divorce from husband Jon last year.

It has included a tummy tuck, a new stylish haircut and a much improved fashion sense.

Her stint on the last season of Dancing With The Stars also helped whip her back into shape.

Kate was minus her eight children as she went on the petrol run.

Recently she was pictured swapping over parenting duties with Jon, but the pair refused to even share the same driveway - let alone talk - when he arrived at her Pennsylvania home to pick up their eight children.

The couple's eight-year-old twins and five-year-old sextuplets were off to spend the weekend with Jon, but Kate refused to even acknowledge her philandering ex-husband.

Kate shot to fame through the series Jon And Kate Plus 8 which followed the fortune of herself, her ex-husband Jon and their huge brood.

Viewers became transfixed as the couple struggled with family life and ultimately split after he had an affair with the nanny. But Kate has gone from strength to strength after ditching her womanising husband.

Jon has been dropped from the show that made him famous, which has been renamed Kate Plus 8.
