Shocking News!

Cash for sacks? Sex for stud recruits? Big-money handshakes from strangers? It's all a part of college football's pay-for-play system, according to several former Auburn players who are dishing the dirt on HBO's "Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel" (Wed., 10 p.m. ET).

Well I think we can all take a step back and let it all sink in. 18 year old kids who decide the fate of multi- million dollar programs with the decisions they make are persuaded by money. And programs who have millions at stake will "invest" thousands of dollars to insure the best possible outcome for their organizations. Somewhere there is an economist and sociologist shaking hands.
I personally like the current system of under the table payments. You can't start paying players. It opens up a pandoras box of who gets paid what, players holding out after big seasons, big time recruits being busts and still getting paid more, and an equal payment for everyone is a joke and will be laughed at by the star players.
Right now it is just like anything else in the world, make the rule, people will break it, so police it, and hand out punishments accordingly. In the end stars will get treated like stars, (Bush was given the car in the pic while at USC), and role players will get gift certificates to the olive garden and sloppy seconds.
