Damn right they do. Just look at the facts; three musketeers, three Lord Of The Ring's, three Hanson brothers.....

Moving on, I thought I would treat you to some harmless, speculative fun courtesy of Air Conditioning by Jay Fingers who has thrown together some interesting poster art for Batman 3. And when I say he, I mean Josh MC at DeviantART who is the lad behind the fan made poster art.

Currently Chris Nolan is busy finishing off work on his mysterious Inception , but with that due to finish in the next few weeks people are definitely keen to know when he will be starting work on the third Batman film. According to Michael Cain, Nolan has already finished the final script and is keen to start shooting late 2010. Thing is, I WANT DETAILS! Plot, villains, cast...all of it!

Considering Movie Mazz reckons The Dark Knight is one of the best films ever made (and given the box-office figures so do a lot of other people) I'm desperate for any new goss on the project and how the heck super-Nolan is going to follow up his past two Batman films.

Anyway, until there's some actual, semi-fact based news, at least these fan posters can tease at the possibilities.

Oldman suddenly cool, and down with the kids

BATMAN 3 TO START FILMING NEXT YEAR?!

I’m sorry if my overuse of capitals hurt your eyes, but really, your pain pales in insignificance compared to the prospect of Batman 3 getting underway next year!!!

After the colossal success of The Dark Knight, rumours surrounding director Chris Nolan’s third Batman film have been flying out of every A-Lister's orifice. The latest comes from cast member and all-round stellar chap Gary Oldman who plays police commissioner Gordon in the films. Whilst taking part in a panel at Comic-Con with Denzel Washington and Mila Kunis to promote their latest film The Book of Eli, some ballsy person probed Oldman on the latest Batman 3 news. He had this to say:

“We’re starting filming on the next Batman next year. So it won’t be out for another two years at least, I think. But you didn’t hear it from me!”

Actually, Oldman, we did hear it from you since you’re the only semi-reliable person to dish anything about the movie in recent months. Hmmm, another two years you say? That would make a new Batman film due for release around 2012-ish which sounds about right considering Nolan is busy festering away on his latest project Inception. What’s that? Nolan is making a non-Batman film? Yes, kids, believe it or not he’s extremely good at it too. For those wanting to hear all about Nolan’s sci-fi actioner, stay tuned as I intend to post a full run-down on Inception in the next few days.

Nolan rolls em' out

Wow. Double wow.
Chris Nolan’s next project is shaping up to be the most exciting film of 2010 in my books. Back in Febuary I mentioned it briefly in a post (click here) and since then Inception has been developing faster than Michael Phelps’ drug habit. If you recall, after the success of The Dark Knight there was a lot of talk about whether Nolan would jump straight in to the next Batman film or work on a different project. He confirmed he would be developing a script he wrote called Inception which is basically a sci-fi thriller. Things were quiet on the Inception front for a few months but . . . .here comes the `wow’ factor . . .Nolan has been assembling QUITE a cast. Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Michael Caine, Ken Watanabe and (drum roll please) JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT! Yep, my favouritist male up and comer has also scored a role in the flick which has possibly one of the best casts I’ve ever seen. Stay posted for more details on the Inception plot when they come to light. I doubt there will be anymore major cast announcements as, frankly, I don’t see how it could get any better.

The might of the knight

Batman now billion-dollar man? It would seem so. Like the fictional character Bruce Wayne, the latest Batman movie is now worth over a billion dollars. Warner Bros. made the announcement that The Dark Knight has made a worldwide gross of $1,001,082,160 -- about $533 million in the US and $567 million overseas. That’s not even figuring in DVD and merchandise sales yet! It has now become one of only four films in history to go over the billion mark with other members of the club being Titanic, Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. In fact, The Dark Knight is the second highest grossing film of all time behind Titanic. I think it’s interesting to note that both the third installment of Lord Of The Rings and Titanic won the Oscar for best picture, yet The Dark Knight didn’t even get a nomination. Okay, I swear I’ll stop bitching about it now. In more Batman news, director Chris Nolan’s next project will be the sci-fi action pic Inception which he is adapting from his original screenplay. Rumor has it that Nolan signed a deal with Warner Bros saying they would make/finance his Inception film if the next project he did after that was Batman 3. Clever man.
