Favourite Movie Friday with Michael Paget from Bullet For My Valentine

With Australia's premiere hardcore music festival Soundwave on in Brisbane this weekend, there really isn't a more opportune moment to post my favourite movie chat with Michael Paget from Bullet For My Valentine (above). Suffice to say, his choices are a lil' hairy:


"I love werewolf and war movies actually. When they made Dog Soldiers a few years ago with werewolves and war, they had me perfectly. I also like the smarter, more adult cartoons, like the Ice Age’s and Shrek’s."

Who would have thunk it, me and Michael Paget bonding over mutual Neil Marshall love?

Oh c’mon. If you’re going to plagiarise the complete design of a character from another movie you have to at least make it a little bit different. Just a little, otherwise it’s obvious to every other geek in movie-dom, like the evidence below:
Exhibit A

Olga Kurylenko, Centurion (2009)

Keira Knightley, King Arthur (2004)
Exhibit A is the latest still released from the set of Centurion, the baby of horror-action helmer Neil Marshall. Pictured is former Bond babe Olga Kurylenko whose overall costuming bares an uncanny resemblance to Keira Knightley’s character in King Arthur. Even Olga’s pose seems to be taken straight out of miss-pout-a-lot’s style guide. Also, the plotlines are remarkably similar since Centurion is about a splinter group of Roman soldiers fighting for their lives behind enemy lines after a devastating guerrilla attack. Overall consensus? Yawn, been done.
