Twilight overload!

It's a day ending in Y and so here's another Twilight update. Fans in the US have been going crazy (crazier than usual for Americans) at public appearances where members of the cast have been available to sign autographs at shopping malls across the country. Tweens have been showing up in their thousands, yes I said thousands, to "meet and greet Edward Cullen in person." Ummm I hate to be the bearer of bad news or have a pack of ravenous 14-year-old girls set upon me but has anyone let them know Edward Cullen is a fictional character? Do they realise Robert Pattison is an actor? A hot, talented actor at that but none the less an ACTOR. Things have been getting so crazy at the signings riots have broken out and one appearance had to be canceled because the crowd of over 700 got too rowdy. This is getting out of control! The film hasn't even opened yet at already Pattison is being treated like the next Zac Efron . . . . ew. On that note, how long till the nude pictures of Kristen Stewart are released? Naturally gossip blogger Perez Hilton has all the exclusive, juicy details and official statements which you can view here:

On a slightly less fanatical note the Twilight soundtrack has been selling quicker than chocolate cigarettes in the US and is currently #1 on the Billboard album charts. It has also become the biggest digital album of the year breaking all previous records at Amazon. This is great to hear as Stephnie Meyer hand picked most of the songs on the album from some of her favourite bands which mostly happen to be emerging alternative and indie groups. Hopefully the album will get them the exposure they need to boost a few more record sales. There have also been a bunch of lengthy scenes from the movie leaked online but if you want my opinion, I say wait for the movie and watch it on a quality screen in the cinema the way it was intended. As reported last week, online ticket site Fandago was reporting record sales with the Twilight pre-sale selling out at more than 100 locations. More updates have come to light and the latest figures show Twilight is smashing the new Bond flick Quantum of Solace in pre-sales. This is great news for the humble Summit Entertainment studio which is behind the Twilight film.
