Obscure is the new black

For all you movie and internet voyeurs out there, boy have I got a treat for you. And no, it's not a Schmacko. It's a nifty website called MovieLine which along with movie news, reviews etc there's also a section dedicated to obscure film findings. You know, the kind of movie which is brilliant in its own right but slips behind the couch cushion and is lost for months, years, decades.

Note: when I say `obscure' movies I don't mean the kitsch, obscure horror movies I usually harp on about *cough Sleepaway Camp cough cough*. This is high-brow obscure, the kind which would make all your les artiste friends feel unworthy.

Sleepaway Champ!

Ah, there are few things I enjoy more than atrocious horror movies. Eighties kitsch-masterpiece Sleepaway Camp takes the cake. The basic plot line of the film is this; bunch of kids go to camp, killer is on the loose, blood and mayhem ensue. To emphasise the daggy-brilliance of Sleepaway Camp check out the hilarious movie poster below.

Sleepaway Camp is available to purchase online and at some DVD stores in Brisbane (as the Gold Coast would never sell this sort of trash of course, instead we have meter maids who sell themselves).
Warning: if you are about to watch this movie first of all you get a high five. Second, prepare yourself for one of the most shocking and utterly bizarre endings in a film . . .ever. Oh, Angela.
