This is a picture of The National Palace once the earthquake was over.

As you all know, Haiti got struck by a huge earthquake on Tuesday, January 12th. So far there has been a reported 50,000 dead and many, many more injured. Although many were shocked to hear about this earthquake occurring, geologists have been predicting a massive quake in Haiti for quite some time now. The only problem with their prediction was that they had absolutely no idea when it was going to happen; they couldn't tell if it was going to happen today, tomorrow, or in 10-100 years from now. Well the fact of the matter remains, it already happened and it was about a 7.0 on the Richter Scale!
