I said I would keep you updated on Watchmen news and updated you shall be faithful readers! Fans of the graphic novel would be familiar with Tales Of The Black Freighter which is an apocalyptic pirate comic-book within Watchmen. Well, the morbid tale is being released on DVD as a companion piece to the main feature. Watch the Tales Of The Black Freighter trailer here. Be warned, those hoping for a cheery Watchmen spin-off should prepare for a very dark, violent and at times horrific pirate tale – but oh how spectacular the visuals look. Scottish actor Gerard Butler voices the mariner and from the looks of the corpse raft, this isn’t a cartoon for the kiddies. Tales Of The Black Freighter is in stores on April 22 in DVD and Blue-ray format, and runs for around 22 minutes. Watchmen addicts will also be drooling over the news a 36-minute pseudo-documentary looking at Nite Owl's autobiography, Under The Hood, will be included.
