Professional: Cheryl Cole supported the Black Eyed Peas on stage last night just days after filing for divorce. She wore the same stage outfit she donned for the de Grisogono Party at the Hotel Du Cap in Cannes last week
Just two days before, she had formally begun divorce proceedings marking the end of her marriage of nearly four years.
But brave Cheryl Cole, 26, proved a true professional as she performed at London's O2 Arena last night.
On only one occasion did she reveal just some of the inner turmoil she must have been going through in recent months.
At the end of her performance, Mrs Cole told the 20,000 strong audience: ‘Goodnight London and thank you. It’s been a pleasure as always.
‘I want to tell all you strong women in the house tonight, that’s my favourite word: strong.’
It was a seemingly defiant message to send out to fans.
Mrs Cole was performing as part of her role as the support act for Black Eyed Peas during their European tour.
The last concert they had played before last night's was on Monday in Manchester – the day before Mrs Cole launched divorce proceedings

Wearing sunglasses and a white sequined mini-dress emblazoned with stars, the Girls Aloud star delivered a high-tempo 40-minute performance.
At one point, she was joined on stage by Black Eyed Peas frontman and close friend Will.i.am, who has made no secret of his feelings for her.
The pair performed a duet of Mrs Cole's recent hit 3 Words.
The two exchanged coy smiles and gazed at each other as they cooed the chorus, ‘I love you, you are the love of my life… Can’t nothing tear us apart.’
Will.i.am recently called Mrs Cole ‘the most beautiful girl in the world’ and he has become her friend and confidant since her marriage collapsed.
However, friends of Mrs Cole insist their relationship is purely platonic for now.
Meanwhile, estranged husband Ashley Cole, 29, has told his England team mates of his shock at Mrs Cole’s decision.
The couple separated in February and she launched divorce proceedings this week, citing his ‘unreasonable behaviour.’
In the legal documents, Cole was said to have 'admitted' to being unfaithful to her.
Nevertheless, the Chelsea defender believed the marriage could still be saved until he learned she had formally begun proceedings.
A close friend of Cole’s said: 'The split has left Ashley in the pits. He thought there would be another chance to sort things out.'
