After days of speculation, Katy Perry has finally confirmed rumours she isn't pregnant with fiancé Russell Brand's baby.

The 25-year-old singer gave a bit too much information on her Twitter micro-blogging page when she revealed she had started her period.

After being teased about her 'pregnancy' by her friend Lukasz Gottwald, Perry replied: 'You're gonna make me cry, maybe that's my period though. That's right I'm bleeding. Face. Better luck next month peepz.'

Hours before her revelation, Perry was spotted dressed for the gym in cropped leggings, T-shirt, baseball cap and trainers as she ran errands in Beverly Hills.

Meanwhile, her husband-to-be Russell Brand, 34, was showing support for his beloved West Ham football team in his team colours as he worked out in the Crunch gym in Hollywood.

Speculation grew that the I Kissed A Girl singer was expecting after she posted a series of Twitter comments which were interpreted as pregnancy hints.

The day after her New Year's Eve engagement in India, the singer wrote: 'Let me tell you 2010 is BUMPIN!'

A few days later, she wrote on Brand's page: 'Hey @rustyrockets (Brand's Twitter name) I heard ur prego-ed.'

In the past week, Katy said several times she was having cravings for In N Out burgers - which are only available in her native California.

She wrote last Thursday: 'I want In N Out.'

Addressing Brand again, she wrote on Friday: 'I love you @rustyrockets (awwww barf).'

Brand admitted last month he would like to have a family.

Appearing on GMTV, he said: 'I want to have children - that would be good.

'I thought I was promiscuous, but it turns out I was just thorough - to get the right one. I'm ever so happy.'

Brand proposed to Katy with a Cartier diamond ring on New Year's Eve in the gardens of the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur.

After a romantic candlelight dinner in the garden, the couple sat on an elephant to watch the fireworks at midnight before Brand finally got down on one knee.

The comedian confirmed the engagement in a text message to The Sun newspaper, saying: 'It's true. Much love.'

The couple first met over a year ago at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and had already kissed on-screen for a film before their romance.

Katy puckers up with Brand in a cameo role in his new film Get Him To The Greek, which sees the comedian reprise his role as womanising rocker Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

After several meetings, the pair finally got together at an after-party for the 2009 MTV VMAs in New York on September 13.
