She's banked a few million dollars during her meteoric rise to pop stardom, so it's little wonder that Katy Perry can wear such a pair of striking shorts.

The singer, 25, was pictured on her daily jaunt to the gym in West Hollywood wearing shorts with the U.S. hundred dollar bill printed on them.

Of course, having such huge wealth as Miss Perry she's probably found that the coveted notes, featuring U.S. founding father Benjamin Franklin, are two a penny.

Matched with a white v-neck and a blue LA Dodgers cap, Katie's shorts certainly stood out during her trip to the gym.

She accessorised with her Chanel 2.55 quilted handbag.

The pop star will be shaping up for her wedding to fiance Russell Brand, which is set to take place towards the end of the year.

This week she dismissed a report that she been attending hypnotherapy sessions to try to give up smoking.

It had been alleged that she had turned to cigarettes to deal with the stress of organising her wedding.

And an article published in the Daily Mirror earlier this week, claimed Perry told an unnamed pal: 'I'm stressed out with the wedding and I keep smoking to calm my nerves.

'I do it even though I know it is really bad for me and I know I need to stop. So I'm thinking I am going to have hypnotherapy to help me get over it.'

But Miss Perry took to her beloved Twitter account to rebuke the report.

She tweeted: 'Weird story bout hypnotherapy, smoking & wedding. It's all made up! It's bad, of course! So is drinking! So are most of me outfits!

The wise-cracking star also joked about her forthcoming wedding this week, telling reporters it was to take place 'under the ocean'.

This came just a few days after her good friend, and fellow pop star, Rihanna let slip that the union was due to take place in India.

However, rumours to the contrary claim that Brand is plotting a Far East wedding, in Japan.

The funnyman will follow in his fiancee's footsteps by releasing a single according to one report.

A story in The Sun claims that the comedian has recorded several tracks in his guise as rock star Aldous Snow, in new film Get Him To The Greek.

A source allegedly told the newspaper: 'Universal pictures and the music arm of the company are very excited about the prospect of cashing in on the film and the music.

'Russell was a natural as a rock 'n' roll frontman and there's a lot of scope for clever marketing campaigns around his role.'
