'Hello darling': Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston greet each other as they rehearse a scene for their new movie Just Go With It in Hawaii

Arms stretched open, running towards each other in Hawaii yesterday, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman looked like a pair of old friends.

But the actresses weren't greeting each other - they were simply rehearsing for their latest film Just Go With It.

Dressed in their normal clothes, Kidman, 42, and Aniston, 41, looked like a pair of typical luvvies as they put on over-the-top display of friendship.

'You look amazing': Kidman embraces Aniston before complimenting the star

Clutching their scripts, the two women gesticulated and jumped around as director Dennis Dugan and co-star Adam Sandler watched them in action.

Looking fresh-faced with her hair scraped back into a loose ponytail, Kidman looked laidback in a yellow dress with low-slung brown belt.

Her new co-star Aniston was equally casual in a pair of cropped khaki trousers and a black vest.

The rehearsals marked the first time Kidman has been on location of the film, with Aniston and Sandler spotted filming scenes on Hawaii's Maui island earlier this week

The size of Kidman's role in the film in currently unclear, with some Hollywood sources saying it would only be a cameo.

Despite the smallness of the role, the film's location of Hawaii would be a draw for Kidman who was born on the U.S. island before her parents brought her back to Australia when she was four years old.

Just Go With It stars Sandler as a commitment-phone plastic surgeon, who lies to his much younger girlfriend Beverly (played by Andy Roddick's wife Brooklyn Decker) that he's married with children.

He enlists the help of Aniston's single mother character to pretend to be his 'estranged wife'.

Direction: Kidman listens intently to director Dennis Dugan

Aniston will be hoping the film is a hit after her last movie The Bounty Hunter failed to deliver at the box office, despite an intensive promotional tour.

Spotted filming late into Wednesday night, Aniston showed off her impressive figure in a risqué crochet dress.

She works out regularly with celebrity fitness expert Tracy Anderson, who coaches her through yoga, pilates and runs.

Jennifer also 'eats really well' but does 'indulge' occasionally - by celebrity standards at least.

She told Harper's Bazaar last month: 'You’re not taking away my coffee or my dairy or my glass of wine because I’d be devastated.'

Jennifer also recently revealed she plans to reinvent herself as a director.

She told The Sun: 'I have a project in development I'm going to direct

Looking good: Toned Jennifer filming her new movie Just Go With It in Maui, Hawaii, but can her trim figure help make it a hit?

'After you get enough movies under your belt you sit back and go, "What's next?"

'It's getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.'

Aniston co-directed short film Room 10 with friend Andrea Buchanan in 2006.

When asked about Jennifer's comments about wanting to work behind the camera, her Friends co-star Courteney Cox told U.S. website E! News: 'She's already directed a short film. She's amazing. It would be great.'

Comedy: Jennifer play a single mother, who comedian Adam Sandler asks to pretend to be his soon-to-be-divorced wife
