Helping hand: Victoria Beckham arrives at an art gallery in downtown Manhattan - with her male assistant carrying her designer bag for her

It's the kind of treatment usually reserved for royalty.

But given she's married to the world's most famous footballer, Victoria Beckham clearly felt her reputation of queen WAG was sufficient justification.

The 36-year-old revelled in a new level of extravagance this week after hiring a team of flunkies to carry her bags during a shopping trip in New York on Tuesday.

Perhaps husband David would have displayed his chivalrous side and at least offered to take his wife's handbag himself, had he not been struggling to walk.

His left foot was cased in a black cast, which he has been sporting ever since injuring his Achilles tendon in March.

Even so, he dutifully hobbled along behind as Victoria darted from shop to shop, gathering bags which were then handed to her assistants

Day out: David and Victoria arrive at a clothing store for a spot of shopping

Svelte: Victoria wore a black dress from her own collection, accessorised with a black bolero and sparkly shoes

In one store, David waited patiently as Victoria tried on a variety of outfits including a grey jumper and silk harem trousers.

While the singer looked unconvinced by the trendy ensemble, it appears David may have convinced her to go ahead and buy it, as the star was later seen signing for her purchases.

It was the second consecutive day of shopping for Victoria, who wore a plunging top for a trip to the grocery store on Monday.

Injured: David opted for a casual outfit, but managed to co-ordinate his cast with his jumper and hat

Again, a suited assistant was on hand to slavishly hold her shopping basket as she perused items in a Whole Foods supermarket.

In true diva fashion, Miss Beckham declined to remove her over-sized sunglasses once inside.

The pair had been visiting the Big Apple for an appearance on chat show The View on Monday.

On the programme, David, 34, dismissed rumours of the couple moving back to England, telling viewers: 'We love England, it's where we was brought up.

'London is where we're both from, but this is a new phase of our life that we're really enjoying.

'We've lived in Los Angeles now for three years and we're so happy there. We're not going to be moving back at any time soon.'

David also revealed that despite his injury, which means he won't be able to play in the upcoming World Cup this summer, he is enjoying spending time with Victoria and their three sons.

He said: 'I'm OK. It's not a nice injury, but I'll be out of action now for six to seven months, and then I'll be playing back in LA again.

'I'll be there at the World Cup with the team and support the team. Obviously it's frustrating, but I get time to spend with the family.'

Meanwhile, new shots from Victoria's latest modelling job have been released.

Victoria teams up with close friend Eva Longoria to star in the new ads for the LG Fashion Touch mobile phones.

The two women look super slim as they pose in tight-fitting designer dresses clutching their different styled phones.

Last week, they co-starred in a short ad which sees the two women trying on clothes and giggling on the phone.

Victoria is modelling the Lotus Elite model, while the Desperate Housewives star is showcasing the Rumor Touch.
