The deep pockets issue is so rather risky.

In my flawed opinion, having a deep pocket does not guarantee one success in the stock market. One can buy and buy and buy and buy and buy as much as they want because they have a deep pocket.

But what is one really doing in reality?

Well for me, in my flawed opinion, they are only buying and buying and buying and buying more of the same stuff.

It has no relationship to whether the decision to buy the stock is correct or not in the first place.

Same with holding the stocks just because one have deep pockets. What's one doing? Me? I only see one holding a stock just because they have money. That's all. Again, it does not even say if their reasoning to buy and to hold the stock is correct.

And I am sure you know that if a stock selection is really bad, holding on to it for as long as possible or buying more, usually does not correct the initial mistake to buy the stock!

After spending most of last week in the front row at London Fashion Week shows, Nicola Roberts has her eyes on all the latest trends.

And on style that has caught her eye appears to be over-the-knee boots.

Spotted out in London last night, the Girls Aloud singer gave her romantic dresses an edgy look with a pair of sexy over-the-knee brown boots.

The 24-year-old redhead teamed a floral tea dress with the boots and a leather jacket at she left the Dorchester Hotel with boyfriend Charlie Fennell.

Roberts was seen out with her boyfriend after enjoying a girls night out at the Lady GaGa concert at the O2 Arena on Friday night.

She joined bandmates Cheryl Cole and Kimberly Walsh in a VIP box at the concert extravaganza.

Most of last week, Roberts was seen indulging her passion for fashion at the many shows in the capital.

The Cheshire-born star credits the fashion world with helping her accept her red hair and pale skin.

She said last year: 'I'm just a girl who loves fashion. I'm finding my way, finding my style and whatever anyone thinks I'm enjoying myself.

Roberts has cited quirky individuals in the fashion industry with making her realise it's good to stand out from the crowd.

She recalled: 'I remember looking round at my first fashion party a year ago and thinking, "Oh my God. This is all about odd people. This is where I fit in."

A tired-looking Roberts was spotted driving away from the Coles' marital home at 1am in the morning after spending a few hours there comforting her close friends.

Roberts and Cole are especially close and originally shared a north London flat together in the early days of Girls Aloud.

The pair are said to be planning a Caribbean getaway with bandmate Kimberly Walsh.
The trio famously escaped to Thailand and then Los Angeles together after Ashley was first linked to hairdresser Aimee Walton in 2008.

It's over: Ashley Cole resigned to divorce as he's pictured for the first time without his wedding ring

No longer wearing his wedding ring, Ashley Cole now appears resigned to the fact that his three-and-a-half year marriage to estranged wife Cheryl is over for good.

The 29-year-old Chelsea player was spotted without his diamond-encrusted band for the first time since Girls Aloud star Cheryl walked out on him last week following a string of alleged affairs.

Cole has been desperately battling to save his marriage from a rehabilitation clinic in the south of France where he is receiving treatment on his broken ankle

According to sources at the Centre Europeen de Reeducaion du Sportive, near Biarritz, Ashley has been bombarding the singer with calls and text messages in between physiotherapy sessions.

He had kept his ring on since arriving on Tuesday and had remained hopeful that he would be able to salvage their marriage.

But he gave the strongest hint yet that a divorce is now almost certain after he removed the ring on Saturday.

Still hobbling around on crutches, he ventured out onto the balcony of the third-storey room - only the second time in six days that he has been outside. He only briefly stepped out into the private grounds for some fresh air earlier this week.

The rest of the time he has spent holed up in the complex alongside team-mate Michael Essien, with sources reporting Cole looks ‘miserable’.

Things got worse for the star over the weekend as he watched his Chelsea team-mates crash to an embarrassing defeat to Manchester City.

And if that wasn’t enough, the multi-millionaire defender had to make do watching Saturday’s match on a communal television screen in the canteen along with a number of other patients.

News that he has ditched his wedding ring comes 13 days after Cheryl fled to the US after four women came forward claiming to have slept with the footballer. A fifth woman says Cole had sent her lewd pictures of himself to her mobile phone.

On that occasion, she was wearing neither the £150,000 ring she received from her husband on their wedding day in July 2006 or the £160,000 square-cut diamond he famously presented her with in the wake of his affair with blonde hairdresser Aimee Walton in December 2007.

She announced she was separating from Cole less than a week later. She has prepared herself for a divorce by telling friends that she has no plans to demand any money from her husband and does not want to follow in the footsteps of Heather Mills who battled for a share of Paul McCartney’s fortune when they split.

A source at the clinic has told the Daily Mail that the footballer has been bombarding Cheryl with text messages and has been ‘glued to his mobile phone’ in between physiotherapy sessions.

‘He spends most of his time texting on his mobile phone and calling his family.

‘He looks miserable. But he has had an awful lot of time on his hands to contemplate what has happened as apart from exercising, eating and sleeping there is nothing to do here.

He is basically holed up here. None of his family or friends have come to visit.

They even put a curfew on patients here and he is pretty much cut off from the outside world.

‘It can get extremely lonely. It sounds like he is doing everything he can to try and turn things around at home and is barely talking to anyone else in here. He seems like a little boy lost.’

It is understood that Cole will be staying at the clinic near Biarritz for at least another week.

Meanwhile, Cheryl remained holed up in her mansion yesterday as she battled to get over her husband's affairs.

The 26-year-old superstar's mother Joan Callaghan, 49, was comforting her at the property near Godalming, Surrey, where they have stayed all weekend.

When the allegations were put to her over the house's intercom system, she hung up straight away.

The police presence which had previously been in place outside the property ended as torrential rain battered the south east of England.

Cheryl briefly left her home on Friday night to watch Lady Gaga perform at London's O2 Arena, but she has not been seen in public since.

Cheryl has cancelled virtually all of her TV and radio appearances she was due to give to promote her new single, Parachute, which is released on March 15. She was scheduled to be interviewed on Jonathan Ross’ BBC chatshow the Thursday before, but has now pulled out.

Over the weekend, Cheryl's home was besieged by fans hoping to lift the heartbroken star's spirits.

Three Girls Aloud fans turned up outside the star's £6million mansion in Surrey, hoping to offer the love-split singer their support.

Bournemouth University students Juliet Crouch, Verity Coles, both 21, and Charlie Jessey, 22, drew hearts around their lips with black felt-tip pens and stood outside shouting: 'We love you Cheryl.'

They also pulled their down their tops and scrawled 'Cheryl' across their chests.

Verity said: 'We all love Cheryl. There's no doubt she should kick Ashley out for good. We all feel very sorry for her and just wanted to let her know she has a lot of support. Everyone is on her side.'

A Look At Kumpulan Fima's Earnings

Blogged the other day: Fima Corporation Again!

Now Kumpulan Fima owns about 60% of Fima Corporation. As expected, Kumpulan Fima earnings was also great.

It made some 18.919 million for its fy 2010 Q3. Last quarter it made 9.872 million. The previous same period it made 9.504 million.

And here's a compiled table of what Kumpulan Fima has done since fy 2007.

It's rather impressive, no?

Here's the company's current assets.

The cash balances totals some 110 million. Which is much more than its previous years total of 51 million. Which is comforting to see since the company is enjoying a nice bout of fortune with earnings increasing steadily since fy 2007. The company's cash balances is showing the good fortune Kumpulan Fima is enjoying! ( I am sure if you watch many company's earnings, sometimes you get companies with great earnings but these great earnings are not reflected in their balance sheet!)

And here is the company's liabilities.



Company is well diversified according to its segmentals results and it appears to me that the strong earnings growth is driven by the plantation sector.



And the earnings comments from the company mentioned that there was a capital gain made from a disposal of Banding Island Resort.

Are You Impressed With Uchi's Earnings Recovery?

Uchi Tec announced its earnings the other day. There was some improvement. It made some 10.3 million. (previously it made some 9.187 million only). For sure, one can say that there is great improvement if one looks at its recent quarterly earnings result. Here's a snapshot of Uchi's earnings provided by KLSE Tracker.

Reading left to right, one can see Uchi's earnings improving from 2.771 mil to 4.665 million to 9.187 million to 10.3 million.

And if one based their reasonings on just these set of numbers, surely one would have proudly proclaim that the numbers are very impressive. Some would even call it as growth.

So what's wrong with such numbers?

Almost a year ago, on 25 Feb 2009, I wrote this Yet Another Update On Uchi.

• We are no longer talking about slowing growth but now we are talking about DECLINING earnings!

Uchi used to be a fantastic growth stock.

Look at that awesome track record. From making 23 million in its fy 2000, Uchi managed to earn a whopping 83.888 million in fy 2006. And with a net margin of 54%, it was truly awesome and the stock flew up, up and away.

People bought the stock because it was a growth stock.

But as most would and should realise that it's highly unlikely such a growth could last forever.

Fy 2007, Uchi made 78.228 million,
FY 2008, Uchi made 58.748 million.

And the following chart highlighted in the posting, Yet Another Update On Uchi, showed the great decline.


And the earnings made recently showed Uchi made only 26.953 million for its fy 2009.

So despite the strength seen in its quarterly earnings, the overall decline in Uchi's earnings is a concern, yes? Here's a compiled table.

How?

The very first table clearly showed promise in Uchi's last 4 quarterly earnings but as impressive as they were, the numbers simply paled in comparison. Besides declining profits, net margin and sales revenue have been declining drastically too!

Of course, the optimistic might bet on this stock because they like what they have seen in Uchi's recent earnings. They believe and argue that the worst is over for Uchi.

Some are still cautious and skeptical. These numbers simply pales in comparison to what Uchi had done before and they are skeptical and doubt if the current recovery is sustainable.

Some believe the worst is over for Uchi but on the other hand, they reckon the recovery growth could very soon taper out.

We're all used to seeing Lady Gaga stepping out in something out of this world.

But last night she took inspiration from the bottom of the ocean, as she arrived at her after-show party with a diamond-encrusted lobster on her head.

Let's just hope she wasn't planning on ordering the sea food

Even poultry didn't fare too well with the Bad Romance star who also showed up at the London restaurant with what appeared to be a chicken's leg on her arm.

Funnily enough, the singer was in good company - including that of royalty - in her choice of headwear, with the sparkly lobster being one of Phillip Treacy's creations, a favourite milliner of The Queen and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

The Poker Face - or should that now be Lobster Face - star, clung on to two burly security guards as she made her way through the media throng into her party at Kensington restaurant Mr Chows.

GaGa, real name Joanne Stefani Germanotta, had hot-footed it from her second concert at Dockland's O2 Arena last night, to her bash on the other side of town.

She was also wearing a shorter version of one of her stage outfits, a white see-though latex ensemble, with tape crossing her modesty.

She showed off her peace sign tattoo on the inside of her left wrist, which she said she got in memory of the late Beatle John Lennon.

She gripped on to her bouncers as she made her way inside, but little wonder considering the sparkly towering heels she was wearing.

She arrived at the restaurant, a favourite among celebrities, at just gone 1am and was joined by friends, family, and her dancers.

But a very unusual guest, one no one probably expected to be partying with Gaga, was rock legend Bruce Springsteen.

He arrived to a frenzy of flashbulbs but only spent a short time at the party before leaving, hastily signing an autograph for a fan on the way out.

After the gig, Gaga stepped out in an outfit that looked uncannily like the costume worn by Holly Hunter's character Elastigirl in Walt Disney's 2004 animated film The Incredibles.

Meanwhile, as the singer struts her stuff around our shores in her over-the-top attire, the former girlfriend of Gaga's latest squeeze has spoken about her devastation on seeing photos of him kissing the singer.

According to the News of the World, clothes designer Erin Hirsh said she was stunned when she saw pictures her ex Matthew Williams kissing Gaga on a secret date only a few weeks after he told her he was leaving.

Erin, 26, said she went crazy when she opened a magazine this month to find snaps of the Paparazzi singer playing mum to their son Cairo when she let style guru Williams take him out for the day.

A friend of Erin's told the paper: 'Erin is very upset about what has happened. Now she won't even have the name Lady Gaga mentioned in front of her.

'Losing the father of her child to this woman and seeing pictures of him kissing her was bad enough - an absolute shock to everyone.

'But then seeing Gaga holding their baby in public has been totally devastating for Erin.

'There were words between her and Matthew but he's absolutely not apologised. He's so caught up on the magic ride of fame with Gaga he thinks he's done nothing wrong.'

She won an army of male admirers when she played Strawberry Fields in the hit 007 film Quantum Of Solace. But Gemma Arterton thinks she was ‘not hot enough’ to play a Bond girl and that she is ‘really average’.

Her fans may disagree – and these pictures of her posing in stockings, stilettos and a coat for the latest edition of GQ magazine make her look anything but plain.

The outfit is reminiscent of her chase scene through the streets of Panama with Bond actor Daniel Craig, when she wore nothing except a mac and boots.

But, in an interview with GQ magazine, she said: ‘In comparison to many actresses I think I’m really average. When I got the Bond film there was this big hoo-ha about me not being hot enough. I have to say, I agree. I don’t think I’m in that realm.’


She compared herself to fellow Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, who also starred in Quantum Of Solace.

‘There are some really beautiful actresses, like Olga Kurylenko, who find it difficult,’ she said.

‘It’s frustrating for her but she’s so beautiful that it’s like someone having a massive nose: you are going to take that into consideration when you’re casting her. Whereas I can change my look.’

Miss Arterton’s claim to have ordinary looks is not shared by the film industry’s casting directors.

She has starred as saucy schoolgirl Kelly in the two recent St Trinian’s movies. She also played a groupie called Desiree in The Boat That Rocked, about a pirate radio station broadcasting from the North Sea, where scenes involved distracting the DJs on ‘Sexual Saturdays’.

And she appeared as what she described as ‘totty’ in Guy Ritchie’s last movie, RocknRolla.

Mieco Chipboard announced its earnings and it did not register a loss. In fact, it registered a profit of 3.489 million. A turnaround in the making? Time to have a look again, yes?

Company said the following in its notes.

• Group revenue in the final quarter of 2009 fell 28% to RM47.8 million from RM66.1 million a year ago due to lower selling prices and sales volume of particleboard and related products, though partially mitigated by favourable sales mix.
  Although sales were lower, the Group registered a pre-tax profit of RM2.2 million as compared to a loss of RM25.1 million a year ago mainly due to reduced raw material prices and operational costs. In addition, the Group incurred RM7.2 million allowance for doubtful debts and RM5.9 million loss on disposal of plant and equipment in the last quarter of 2008.

Doubtful debt allowance of 7.2 million....

Cheryl Cole last night ventured out for the first time since announcing her split from her philandering husband Ashley.

Looking tense and tired, with bags under her eyes, the singer escaped from their £3.5million Surrey mansion for a bit of glitz and glamour at a Lady GaGa concert.

It was the first time she left the house in three days since flying back from the U.S. to announce her split from the footballer.

On the return drive home, the 26-year-old appeared to be taking some much-needed rest in the back of her chauffeur-driven car after leaving the O2 arena in London.

It came as sources revealed the X Factor judge is preparing to meet Ashley as soon as next week.

An insider told the Daily Mirror that she had given in to a barrage of texts from the injured left back and had agreed to meet up with him.

Cole, 29, is having treatment on a broken left ankle at a clinic in Biarritz, France.

'Ashley has been texting her non-stop and Cheryl has tentatively agreed to see him,' the source said.

'Cheryl's in two minds but she believes they should meet like adults to discuss what's happened. Her friends are worried he could still win her back.'
They said she was 'furious' but confused.

Even so, Mrs Cole, has told friends she ‘wants nothing’ from her husband except the dogs.

She said that if their separation leads to divorce she does not want to be involved in high-profile and bitter divorce proceedings over the couple’s £22 million fortune.

If their three-and-a-half year marriage ends, the X Factor judge wants a divorce to go through ‘quietly and discreetly.’

She does not want to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Heather Mills, who battled for a share of Sir Paul McCartney's fortune when they split up.

Mr Cole – who earns £4.26 million a year from his contract with Chelsea alone - is the wealthier of the pair, worth £14 million.

On that occasion, she did choose to go on Ross’ chat show to break her silence.

She had been seen without her wedding ring but wore it for the TV interview and said: ‘I was tempted to put it back on his head.’

However, she is currently still concentrating on her own emotions.

She said: ‘At the moment, she’s just having time on her own working through her emotions. It’s an incredibly confusing time for her. Undoubtedly, some of Cheryl still loves Ashley but he has betrayed her.’

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has learnt that Mrs Cole has cancelled ‘virtually all’ of her TV and radio appearances for the release of her new single.

The heart-broken pop star has pulled the plug on a series of interviews she was due to give to support new single Parachute, which is released on March 15.

She was also due to appear and perform on Jonathan Ross’ chat show on the Thursday before the release.

Mrs Cole, 26, will not be interviewed on the BBC1 show. She is also ‘very unlikely’ to even perform, according to friends.

A close friend revealed: ‘Cheryl has pulled the plug on virtually all her TV and radio appearances.

‘And she will not be being interviewed on Ross’s show. The only thing she may do is perform on the programme – but even that is very unlikely.’

Mrs Cole separated from cheating husband Ashley on Tuesday.

She decided to split with the star after he was accused of having a number of affairs and indulging in sex texts with some women.

Mrs Cole forgave him for a previous affair – with hairdresser Aimee Walton in December 2007.

On that occasion, she did choose to go on Ross’ chat show to break her silence.

She had been seen without her wedding ring but wore it for the TV interview and said: ‘I was tempted to put it back on his head

Daisy hits a new Lowe in a sheer bondage-style tunic and stockings on the red carpet

It may not have been her big night but Daisy Lowe was determined to grab the headlines at the Alice In Wonderland premiere.

The young model turned up in a black sheer bondage-style tunic complete with black, hold-up stockings under which her purple satin underwear could clearly be seen

She did wear a black waistcoat over the creation but that did little to save her modesty.

Daisy, 21, arrived alone but clearly she felt confident enough to wear the racy outfit at the Leicester Square event on what was a wet and rainy night in London.

If anyone could tear their eyes away from the car crash couture, Daisy was also wearing a pair of metallic red-and-silver platform court shoes.
To top off the bizarre look, the brunette managed to outdo Helena Bonham Carter's bird's nest hairdo by turning her hair into a frizzy mop.

Daisy is fast becoming the enfant terrible of the fashion world.

She posed nude for a magazine last year, causing her mother Pearl to express her disapproval, and in another shoot for the 2009 Pirelli calendar - she was pictured wearing just a tyre.

Daisy has recently returned from the U.S. to live in London, after admitting living there had left her homesick.

She had moved to New York to further her career but said she failed to make new friends and was 'lonely'.
