Mischa Barton gets into a spot of bother with her classic car

Having a bit of trouble, love? Mischa Barton struggled to open the door on her classic Cadillac as she left a medical centre in Los Angeles yesterday


If Mischa Barton was hoping to make a quick getaway as a herd of paparrazzi approached her, she'd reckoned without her newly purchased classic car.

The former OC star just couldn't get her key to work in the door of her convertible Classic, which didn't look quite so cool all of a sudden.

No one rushed to give her a hand either, although someone could have at least suggested she put her drink down to free her hands.

She wasn't exactly looking her best either, in an unflattering outfit that consisted of cropped grey trousers, blue lace-up boots and a badly-fitted blue and white striped nautical-style T-shirt.

Her efforts turned more frantic as the clock ticked down on her parking meter, but with just 20 minutes left, her perseverance paid off and she got inside the car and sped off.

And this is not the first time Mischa has done battle with her motor.

The former O.C star bought the classic 1970s soft-top blue car in February for $15,000 (£13,000) and almost immediately ran into problems when she ran out of petrol as she left the dealership.

The actress, whose dishevelled state could be attributed to her spending more and more time on the Hollywood party scene, is also facing a struggle in her personal life, especially where a certain ex-boyfriend is concerned.

She is currently embroiled in a row with socialite and heir Brandon Davis who she dated back in 2004.

The actress was said to have beeb left devastated after reading on Davis's Twitter page a post that read: 'Omg (oh my God). Just realised my ex turned in to 1 of the fattest people on the planet. I'm gonna start dating plus size models. Not! Mischa the Hefer.'

But speaking to In Touch magazine, Davis, 30, denied that the taunt had anything to do with him and said: 'I would never say anything nasty about Mischa, especially about her weight. I am p**sed that someone stole my identity and started Twittering things.'

He even claimed that he doesn't even have a Twitter account - but on further inspection of the social networking site, there is a page that appears to be owned by the heir under the name @BrandonDavis14.

Although the offending comment wasn't on his page - which has only been up and running since April 6 - he did make reference to it.

On April 10, he Tweeted: 'With rick soloman. He stole my phone and wrote the mischa comment. Would never speak that way about an ex.'

However, the day after the account was opened, there was a Tweet that read: 'Just saw @jeffbeacher and thought it was Mischa', a reference to the rather rotund US showman Jeff Beacher.
