Hairdo or hair don't? Cheryl Cole arrives at Heathrow Airport for her flight to Dublin today wearing an oversized black and red checked bow
Cheryl Cole attempted to revive an Eighties fashion trend today as she stepped out with a floppy bow hairband.
Jetting out from London to Dublin ahead of her support gig with The Black Eyed Peas tonight, the 26-year-old singer held her famous brunette locks off her face with a red and black checked hairband.
Looking super-slim in a pair of skinny jeans, a khaki shirt and high heels, Cole appeared to have taken inspiration from late TV presenter Paula Yates when it came to decorating her hair.
Inspiration? Paula Yates wearing a floppy hair bow in 1986
Yates, who died 10 years ago, frequently wore an oversized bow near her hairline during her Eighties heyday when she presented late night music show The Tube.
Arriving at Heathrow today accompanied by her mother Joan Callaghan, the X Factor judge looked serious as she dashed through the airport.
While the bow is likely to be Cole's attempting to experiment with her hair, the look is unlikely to go down well with the male fans who voted for her in the FHM Sexiest Women In The World poll.
On Thursday, the men's magazine confirmed Cole had won the title for second year, narrowly beating Megan Fox and Marissa Miller to the title.
Tonight's gig in Dublin marks the first part of the European leg of the Black Eyed Peas's E.N.D World Tour.
Cole will warm up the crowd for the band over 19 gigs, her latest being in Paris on June 5, before the group returns to North America without her.
While it is unknown where Cole bought her latest hair accessory, fans of the look will be wondering if she bought it online.
Skinny: Cole accentuated her slim figure with a pair of skin-tight denim jeans and belt around her waist
In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine, the Girls Aloud star admitted she preferred to shop on the internet rather than in store.
She said: 'I tend to shop online - mostly online to be honest because I actually feel the whole thing of shopping actually really stressful.
'Just the lighting in dressing rooms makes you depressed for some reason.'
Cheer up mum: Cole brought her mum Joan Callaghan along for the ride, who didn't look too happy
With eight months still to go in 2010, the X Factor Judge admits she hasn't made any set plans.
She explained: 'I don’t set myself goals as in what I wanted to achieve by 2010 or in ten years time - I feel like I’ve been lucky and blessed enough to achieved what I have up to now.
'I’m happy with my lot; anything from now is a bonus - anything I do do I’m going to give 100 per cent - I always will. But, I don’t have anything planned - I just go with the flow.'
