J-Lo is a girl for all seasons as she dresses to impress in red - but then wraps up against the chilly New York wind

From flaunting to freezing: Jennifer Lopez shows off her figure in a little red dress but then covers up against the cold


Just like Britain at this time of year, New Yorkers also have to make sure they are prepared for all the elements.

And Jennifer Lopez was no exception today as she stepped out in a red dress that flaunted her long tanned legs in the bright spring sunshine.

But despite the warm sunshine, it appeared to be much chillier in the shade and the star was forced to wrap herself up warm.

Jennifer, 40, was in the city to promote her upcoming film, romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan, and appeared on the Today Show at 8am.

Chatting to host Matt Lauer, she spoke about her new film which tells the story of Zoe, a single, successful woman played by Lopez who hasn't found the right man so decides to have a baby.

But after she conceives twins through artificial insemination, she then meets the man of her dreams on the very same day.

The film is released in the US on Friday and in the UK on May 7.

And she revealed to Lauer that she has a love for romantic comedies and makes husband Marc Antony, watch them with her.

She said: 'I love watching rom coms, I force Marc to watch them with me, both the good ones and the bad ones.'

Jennifer also said that having reached 40, she was very excited at this new stage of her career.

She said: 'It is a great time to be an actress. It seems like you can work and do anything at any age ... It's a great time that people are just seeing people's souls. It's not so superficial anymore.

'Women have proven that they are viable in this business, as well, and it doesn't matter if you're not 21 years old. It just matters that you're great at what you do. And that's exciting.'

And she gushed about her two-year-old twins Max and Emme and how much she is enjoying motherhood.

She said: 'It is good, I love it. The twins are two, they are walking and talking and telling me what to do. They are good, they are just into their twos, so I have a whole year of terrible twos to go.'

After the show, the actress and singer climbed into a yellow taxi cab to promote CBS Films offering free taxi rides in Manhattan to publicise the romantic comedy.

Then it was back to her Manhattan hotel for a rest and an outfit change before heading out again to the Ed Sullivan Theatre for an appearance on 'The Late Show With David Letterman'.
