Disappearing act as Jessica Alba zaps off her neck tattoo with laser op (perhaps Cheryl should see the same surgeon)

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Regrets, I've had a few: Jessica Alba, pictured last night at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival Party in Los Angeles, appears to be having her neck tattoo removed through laser surgery

It has become something of a rite of passage for young starlets, and famously Cheryl Cole, but Jessica Alba is clearly regretting getting herself a prominent tattoo.

The Valentine's Day actress appears to have had laser surgery to remove the daisy and ladybird design she had inked on the back of her neck three years ago.

The faded etching was only just visible as she arrived at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival Party in LA with her hair tied in an up do.

While her stylish dress and incredibly elaborate shoes, both designed by Proenza Schouler, were certainly eye catching, keen red carpet observers were fixated on the disappearing mark.

Ink: Her ladybird and daisy tattoo

Laser surgery takes between three to 15 treatments, over the course of about six weeks, to remove all traces of a tattoo.

The mother-of-one, who is currently promoting her next film, The Killer Inside Me, still has two remaining tattoos - a bow on her lower back and the Sanskrit symbol for lotus flower, a padma, on her wrist.

Of course, Jessica is not the first celebrity to suffer tattoo regret.

Peter Andre recently started having the removal treatment after getting his ex-wife Katie Price's name inked on his wedding finger.

Jordan settled for having a big cross crudely inked over her 'Pete' wrist tattoo during her post break-up trip to Ibiza.

Short and sweet: Jessica wore a stylish Proenza Schouler dress

Mrs Cole: The poignant tattoo on Cheryl's neck which she may now want to remove

There's no doubt Cheryl Cole is lamenting her decision to have 'Mrs C' inked on the back of her neck following her marriage to philanderer Ashley, but it's unclear what action she will take.

Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson have all also had tattoos removed.

The most famous celebrity example of tattoo remorse is Johnny Depp, who had 'Winona Forever' etched into his arm during his relationship with Miss Ryder.

After they split, he had the 'na' removed, leaving it to read 'Wino Forever'.

Well heeled: She also wore a unique pair of wedges, also designed by
Proenza Schouler
