Where have your curves gone, Catherine Zeta-Jones?

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Catherine Zeta-Jones looked painfully thin as she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman in New York yesterday

It's been just five weeks since Catherine Zeta-Jones made her Broadway debut, but it seems the hectic performance schedule has already taken a toll.

The once buxom Welsh actress looked a shadow of her former self as she arrived for an interview on on the Late Show With David Letterman in New York yesterday.

As she arrived at the studio, her elegant black coat was left swimming on her shrunken frame and her spindly legs looked to be just skin and bone.

She then peeled down to a tight bandage dress that revealed the full extent of her weight loss.

It was in start contrast to the shapely physique that helped catapult her to fame in the Darling Buds of May in the early Nineties.

She is currently starring in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music, for which she has received positive reviews.

Starring alongside 84-year-old Angela Lansbury in Sir Trevor Nunn's production, Miss Zeta-Jones plays Desiree Armfeldt, who sings the show-stopping ballad, Send In The Clowns.

The actress, who won an Oscar for her part in Chicago, began her career as a 12-year-old in the West End before moving into television and film.

She said returning to the theatre after more than two decades was 'just like going back home'.

Her husband and their two children Dylan, nine, and Carys, six, have temporarily moved to New York from Bermuda, where they have resided for five years.
