Moving on: Singer Cheryl Cole is all smiles as she leaves her recording studio in Los Angeles yesterday

There was nothing forced about Cheryl Cole's wide smile as she left a recording studio in Los Angeles yesterday.

Fully recovered from a debilitating bout of bronchitis, the singer was obviously delighted to be back in the sunny California city - and able to sing again.

Her return marks the 26-year-old's apparent determination to move on following crushing revelations about husband Ashley's infidelity.

It was after learning of the alleged affairs that Cheryl initially fled to Los Angeles and she has now built strong friendships there.

These include Dancing With The Stars dancer Derek Hough, who comforted her following the breakdown of her marriage, and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, with whom she collaborated on her first solo album.

Yesterday, Cheryl wore red acid-washed jeans, animal print peep-toe stilettos and a black rope trompe l'oeil shirt.

The singer separated from Chelsea and England footballer Cole, 29, last month after he was revealed to have cheated on her on a number of occasions.

Happy again: Cheryl is throwing herself into work, recording more solo material

But, so far, she has declined to begin divorce proceedings against the defender.

She is currently throwing herself into work, ahead of the next series of the X Factor.

As well as recording more solo material, she is also working on the first official book charting her rise to fame.

Busy: Cheryl is also working on the 'first official book' charting her rise to fame

The book - Cheryl Cole: My World - will reveal ‘intimate’ photographs of her life.

Publishers are declining to label it an autobiography but the Daily Mail has learned Mrs Cole will be writing ‘substantial' amounts of text to accompany the photographs.

The exact details of her words have not yet been decided - but she was said to be still considering how much to feature her estranged husband.

The book - labelled the ‘first official Cheryl Cole book' - will come out on September 30 and promises to be a ‘lavishly illustrated’ hardback, according to publishers.

The announcement of the deal comes just weeks after the Daily Mail told how book publishers were offering up to £5million for Cheryl's autobiography after a bidding war broke out.

The book will include pictures of Cheryl's early days in Girls Aloud

However, last night publishers Transworld refused to say how much they had paid for the rights to My World.

The book will chronicle the 26-year-old singer's rise from a wannabe appearing on ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals to her role as a judge on The X Factor and her chart-topping solo pop career.

It is unclear whether Cheryl Cole: My World will feature pictures with her estranged husband Ashley

According to the publishers, it will be ‘packed full of previously unseen photographs from Cheryl's own personal collection of favourites, together with dozens of stunning and exclusive new images.’

Asked whether pictures of her husband will be among them, a Transworld spokesman simply said My World will feature ‘all aspects’ of her life, before adding that Cole is currently making her photograph selection.

Cheryl, meanwhile, said: ‘I think looking at pictures is a bit like listening to music - it reminds you of what was happening and how you were feeling at certain times in your life.

‘Sometimes I look at old pictures and I can't believe that was me.

'I think we all do that. I went through a phase of being a bit tomboyish when I loved trainers and Timberland boots and baggy trousers.

‘I had pink streaks in my hair at one point but I was experimenting and, at the time, I liked it.

‘I can look at photos and straight away they'll bring back loads of memories.
‘That's really why I wanted to do this book, so I could choose pictures that mean something to me and tell the stories that go with them.’

Transworld editorial director Sarah Emsley, said: ‘Last year Cheryl Cole had a number one single, a number one album and was a judge on the UK's most successful television programme.

‘She continues to be an integral member of the most successful girl band the UK has ever seen.

‘Warm, talented, incredibly beautiful, greatly loved by the British public and an absolute joy to work with, she is the most talked about celebrity in the UK today.'
