On his way: John Terry and wife Toni leave Stamford Bridge last night
To add to his woe over Chelsea's Champions League exit, John Terry was forced to apologise to an injured club security steward after driving into his leg last night.
Attempting to drive away from Stamford Bridge late on Wednesday night, Terry's car was surrounded by photographers, leaving him at a standstill.
Chelsea's security team eventually managed to clear room for Terry to move forward but as he drove on at a snail's pace, his Range Rover collided with the man's leg
Down: The security steward holds his injured leg
The unnamed man is believed to have suffered bruising to his leg and his injuries are not serious.
Although Terry was unaware of the incident at the time and drove home without stopping, he was later informed.
The Chelsea captain then phoned the injured man and his apologies were accepted.
A spokesperson for Terry said: 'John was travelling at about 2-3mph, edging towards exit of the car park, when he was surrounded by a pack of photographers who were jostling the car.
'He drove off unaware of any incident but he's been told since and has rung the injured person and spoken to him.'

Treatment: The man is attended to by medics
Terry's car was left with scratches down the side from the photographers.
His wife Toni was at his side during the incident, recent revelations about his infidelity apparently far from her mind as she laughed with her husband.
The 25-year-old has been inseperable from Terry in recent weeks, perhaps keen to ensure he doesn't stray once more.
Terry had a four-month affair with ex-team mate John Bridge's former partner Vannesa Perroncel, which resulted in her having an abortion.
Rage: Terry was angry after Chelsea's defeat to Inter Milan
Her and Toni married last year in a £1million ceremony at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire and are parents to twins Georgie John and Summer Rose, who have just turned two.
Toni gave up her career as a beautician after their birth. Terry has told how Toni, who he met when he was 18, originally supported him as he struggled as a Chelsea trainee.
He has said: 'It helps that I've been with Toni since I was 18, and she was on more money than me and I was on YTS. She used to take me for dinner.'
