Cheryl Cole receives Easter visit from close friend Derek Hough at Los Angeles hotel

After being spotted sporting a wide grin as she enjoyed the sights of Los Angeles earlier this week, Cheryl Cole looked as though she couldn't be happier to be in Hollywood.

But it seems the Girls Aloud star has had enough of being in the spotlight, as she has once again retreated into her bolthole in a hotel in West Hollywood.

The 26-year-old, who has not been seen in public since she was photographed leaving a recording studio last Monday, has not been receiving any visitors apart from Dancing With The Stars dancer Derek Hough.


Derek is said to have convinced Cheryl to stay in Los Angeles for Easter instead of returning home to England


After Cheryl enlisted Derek to play the part of her sexy dance partner in the music video for her single Parachute, the pair developed a close friendship.

But Cheryl and Derek's frequent meetings while the singer is in LA recordings tracks for her new solo album have now raised speculation of a closening of their friendship.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: 'Cheryl is very fond of Derek and clearly the feeling is mutual.'

Derek, who is currently partnering Nicole Scherzinger on U.S. TV show Dancing With The Stars, appears to be taking every opportunity to visit Cheryl between rehearsals for the programme.

After visiting Cheryl at around 11am on Friday, Derek then returned later in the evening for another meeting.

The pair are even thought to have developed such a close bond that Derek convinced Cheryl to stay in Los Angeles rather than rturning to England for Easter.

A source said earlier this week: 'Derek has told Cheryl he is always there for her whenever she is in LA.

'He wants to make sure she takes time out for herself and was worried that she might be on her own for Easter so he invited her along to the show. He knows how much she loves watching the dancers do their stuff.'

But despite the pair's burgeoning friendship, Cheryl is said to be convinced she will end up alone after splitting from husband Ashley earlier this year.

A source told the News of the World: 'Cheryl has convinced herself she is not going to find another man. It's consuming her at the moment, and it's one of the reasons why she hasn't decided she will definitely divorce Ashley.

'She wants love in her life but she feels there is so much pressure on her and worries about how she could ever go on a date with someone else.'
