Gareth Gates and his wife Suzanne have been pictured together for the first time following claims he had an affair with his co-star.

Six weeks ago, the Mail On Sunday revealed Gates had resumed his close friendship with Les Miserables co-star Katie Hall, after initially calling it off.

The family outing came just five days after their daughter Missy's first birthday

Shielding his wife from the rain Gareth cut an unassuming figure, in his hooded top, puffer vest and jeans.

Suzanne, 34, pushed their one-year-old along in a sheltered buggy after they had just been for a meal at Nando's in Birmingham's Bullring.

Neither of them looked particularly happy and Gates looked to the ground, pursing his lips almost as if he was a little boy who'd been placed on the naughty step.

The 25-year-old singer first met the glamorous Ms Hall last November, when she was given a starring role in Les Miserables' 25th anniversary tour of Britain.

He plays Marius and she is Cosette, his lover and, eventually, his on-stage wife.

Romance allegedly blossomed behind the scenes, too, and with astonishing speed. It is understood that Gates and his wife had a furious row about Ms Hall soon after she joined the cast.

An insider told the Mail on Sunday: 'Suzanne, who is nine years older than Gareth, has only just got over finding out about their last alleged fling.

'That was when a call from his mobile accidentally connected to hers while he was in an intimate situation with Katie in a car.

'Suzanne exploded and confronted Katie, warning her to "stay away from my man". She eventually forgave Gareth because she loves him and, as a professional dancer, she understands what it is like to be away from home for weeks on end. But the sad truth is that it's all back on again.'

When the reports broke, Gates' spokesperson said: 'We have no comment to make
