'Doing well': Coleen Rooney says her friend Cheryl Cole, pictured leaving a recording studio in Los Angeles, is coping fine following her split from Ashley
She's had to deal with having her own relationship put under scrutiny in the past, but now Coleen Rooney is lending her support to her WAG friend Cheryl Cole.
The wife of Manchester United and England footballer Wayne, 24, has revealed that the Girls Aloud singer is doing well following her split with Chelsea player Ashley Cole, 29.
Coleen, whose husband confessed to visiting brothels when he was 'young and stupid', said: 'That's what's hard about living in the public eye, it's hard when you just want to be dealing with it behind closed doors in your surroundings.'
Mrs Rooney, who turned 24 on Saturday, added: 'I do keep in touch with Cheryl. Occasionally we will drop each other a text. Cheryl is just so nice and doing so well.'
Cheryl is currently in Los Angeles where she was most recently pictured leaving a recording studio.
The singer has been throwing herself into her solo career since the split.

She appeared glum as she left the studio wearing a trilby hat, leather jacket and a pair of distressed jeans.
Cole's estranged husband Ashley was today alleged to have enjoyed secret dates with Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays.
However, 21-year-old Frankie took to her Twitter page to flatly deny the claims.
She tweeted: 'Really upset and angry by the story in The Sun. Can't believe they can just print something that's not true. I've never even met the man.'

In the interview with Hello! magazine, Rooney also speaks for the first time about the birth of son Kai in November.
She revealed husband Wayne was holding one of her hands and her father Tony was holding the other as she gave birth to the couple's first child.
Coleen also said she is in no hurry to regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
'I've still got a bit of a belly - it's getting there, but you can't do it too fast and to be honest I'm not too bothered about it as that's part and parcel of pregnancy,' she said.
