The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford denies 'secret dates' with Ashley Cole

Denial: Frankie Sandford's management say reports that she has shared secret dates with Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole are untrue


Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays has denied that she has been on secret dates with Chelsea star Ashley Cole.

It had been reported that the 21-year-old singer was comforting Cole, 29, following his split with wife Cheryl.

However, her management company issued a statement via their Twitter page to deny the story outright.

Supersonic PR said: 'The story about Frankie in The Sun today is not true. She has never met him. We cannot say anymore as we are taking legal action.'

The Sun newspaper published a story today alleging that Miss Sandford and Mr Cole like to spend nights in at the north London home Ashley has been staying at since his separation from Girls Aloud star Cheryl, 26.

A source allegedly told the newspaper: 'Frankie and Ashley have met on a number of occasions over the last few weeks.

'Ashley has found a good pal in Frankie, he really enjoys her company. She is fond of him as well.'

The Coles' marriage hit the rocks in February over fresh revelations he had cheated on her again with a string of women.

Saturdays star Frankie has recently become single too after splitting from her McFly boyfriend Dougie Poynter.

Since then she has also been linked to JLS star Aston Merrygold although she insists they are just good friends.

Meanwhile Cheryl enjoyed an Easter visit from her friend and confidante Derek Hough while she is staying in Los Angeles working on solo material.

Dancing With The Stars professional Hough performed with Cheryl in her video Parachute and has been comforting her since she announced her separation from Ashley at the end of February.

Over the weekend Cheryl was spotted arriving at X Factor supremo Simon Cowell's LA mansion for dinner.

The music mogul has also been lending his support to the Newcastle-born singer since her split with Ashley.

Speaking to the Daily Mail at Sir Elton John’s post-Oscar party in Los Angeles last month, Mr Cowell said: ‘She's a friend and you're always going to be there for friends.'

Cowell, 50, went on: 'She's going through a hard time, but you know, she's a strong girl. I've been in touch and I'm there for her.'
