Ill: Cheryl Cole has pulled out of her appearance on Jonathan Ross's chat show, seen here at Heathrow Airport on Saturday covering a cold sore with her scarf
Cheryl Cole has come down with a bout of bronchitis, forcing her to cancel her hotly-anticipated appearance on Jonathan Ross's chat show.
The 26-year-old singer has also pulled out of a Live Lounge session on Fearne Cotton's mid morning Radio 1 show, which was scheduled for tomorrow.
The X Factor judge was set to sing her new single Parachute on Ross's Friday night show, which is filmed today.
But the stricken star is now holed up at home and has been told to postpone all promotional activity on doctor's orders.
A spokesman for the star confirmed to MailOnline that, regrettably, 'Cheryl Cole has been forced to postpone all promotional activity this week upon medical advice after contracting bronchitis.'
Earlier in the week Cheryl was spotted at Heathrow airport sporting a cold sore on her top lip.
Pressing ahead: Cheryl appeared on the Danish version of the X Factor last week
The Girls Aloud star has not made a single appearance on a UK TV show since she announced she was separating from husband Ashley last month over a string of cheat claims.
She was only due to sing on Jonathan Ross, and was not going to be interviewed by the controversial host to avoid facing questions over the state of her marriage to Chelsea footballer Cole.
The brunette bravely battled on for her Brit Awards performance on February 16, despite fresh revelations about her husband's alleged extra marital affairs.

She then carried on her promotional work in Europe, plugging her album 3 Words and new single in Denmark last week and making an appearance on the Danish version of the X Factor.
It followed a week long trip to Los Angeles where the star was working on her solo material in the studio.
Cheryl has still not consulted divorce lawyers, but is expected to hold talks with estranged husband Ashley when he returns from France next week.
He is currently staying there in a rehabilitation clinic undergoing treatment for a broken ankle.
What is bronchitis?
Bronchitis is the inflammation of the membranes lining the bronchial tubes.
It is classified into two categories - acute and chronic.
Acute bronchitis often occurs during the course of an acute viral illness such as the common cold or flu. Viruses cause about 90 per cent of cases of acute bronchitis while bacteria account for less than 10 per cent.
Chronic bronchitis, a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is characterised by the presence of a productive cough that lasts for 3 months or more per year for at least 2 years.
It most often develops because of repetitive injury to the airwaves, most commonly caused by smoking.
